This weekend the snakey-train will be pulling into Frome to play at The Griffin.
Two chances for you to come and get your fix of snakey action this weekend.
First up, on Friday we shall be charting a course south of the border through bandit country to Bridport’s The Ropemakers in deepest Dorset. This venue has reputation for its excellent gigs so we’ve been looking forward to this for sometime. Bring. It. On.
Then on Saturday, if you didn’t get an invite to the Royal Wedding (or, if like us you turned down the invitation ‘cos they won’t have proper cider there) then we’ll be playing in Stoke St Gregory at the 2018 African Somerset ‘Feastival’ with Hot Braai and Cold Scrumpy. (OK, we’re not sure what braai is, but we’re looking forward to finding out). It promises games, bbq, cider and camping. We’re in!
See you down the front!
Here’s a list of the live dates confirmed for 2016 – but there are more in the pipeline, so make sure you keep coming back.

We’d heard great things about Sat In A Field Festival before playing and it certainly lived up to expectations. Some ‘inclement’ weather the previous day dampened the ground but not spirits and we received a wet, but very warm welcome indeed. Special thanks go to Oz and his crew for making us so welcome. We’re already looking forward to coming back for more next year!
Here are some pics for your perusal…
Had a blast last night at the Bocabar in Glastonbury rockin’ it with two other superb bands – Howlin Lord and John D Revelator. If ever you get a chance to see these guys then you should take it. Can’t wait to do it again sometime.
And thanks to the crowd who were an awesome snake percussion/slide whistle section. We took a bit of video which we will try and upload for sharing at some point.
Next show for us is at The Bear Inn in Weston Super Mare Saturday July 4th. We’ve heard lots of good things about this place and have been looking forward to our debut there for sometime. May get a chance to build a few sandcastles too. Best pack the bucket and spade.
See you down the front!
We’ll also be making a few appearances at Open Mics around about the place too so keep an eye out…

Digging through the pics recently and realised we’d been sat on these. So, here’s some from a wedding we played in the spring. Thanks to Alice Acreman Photography for letting us use them. And congratulations and much love again to Mr & Mrs Roberts sSsx
We had lots of fun taking part in Oxjam this year, shaking our snakes in both The Bell Inn and Belushis in Bath as well as at the Bocabar in Glastonbury. Hats off to the organisers, performers and everyone else involved in raising a shed load of money for a great cause. Glastonbury & Street’s event raised over £1600 and Bath’s grand total is over £3000!
An added bonus was getting these rockin’ photos from the event photographers!
Come and get your fill on snakey goodness this week at The King Arthur Inn, Glastonbury. We had a blast here a couple weeks back at the open mic night so we’ve been looking forward to this ever since! Good range of proper cider on tap too.
It’ll be our first full set with the full 3 x snake line up for some time so get yerself down there.
In fact, following a small hiatus we’ve got a fairly busy gig calendar in October. Following the King Arthur, we’ll be debuting at The Sheppey in Godney on Friday 10th, then two sets in Bath for Oxjam on the 18th at Belushi’s and The Bell Inn. Then back to the good folks at The Street Inn on 24th, before capping it all at the fantastic Glastonbury’s Oxjam finale at The Red Brick Building. on Saturday November 1st. There’ll be 8 Oxjam events throughout Street & Glastonbury all month with a host of great bands and competitions. So get involved and raise some cash for a great charity. More info on Facebook
Meanwhile, all tracks have been recorded and mixed for the album and we’re just waiting on the mastering. Then you can have us snakes in your pocket all the time!
’til, come along to a show for a drink and a dance.
See you down the front!
PS: (Unfortunately, our gig at CIC in Taunton on September 27th got postponed. That will now happen February 28th 2015.)
