New Year, New gigs! January – back to Bridgy and Wassailing for the best Cider in Britain (official)

Happy New Year Snakefans!

Thanks to all of you who came and saw us at our Christmas gigs during December and who downloaded a copy of the Christmas charity single. Now, with NYE & 12th night behind us we can put Crimbo to bed for another year. But fear not, the snakey-train keeps a-rollin’.

First outing of the year will be back to The Fountain Inn in Bridgwater on Saturday 12th January. A lovely little pub right on the River Parrett with some proper up-for-it locals and always a good night.

No photo description available.

Then – it’s time for a pagan-apple-party: WASSAIL! We are very VERY excited and privileged to be playing at the Harry’s Cider Company Wassail in Long Sutton on Saturday January 26th. Harry’s Cider Company is a lovely, local producer who make proper good scrumpy. And you don’t have to take our word for it – last year 2018, Harry’s Scrummage cider was named best in Britain by CAMRA!

Last year’s Wassail was a storming success with The Langport Mummers performing and hot mulled cider abound. This year expect more of the same, with a proper orchard ceremony, Morris Men and then The legendary snakeSNAKEsnake seeing the night out. Tickets are available now and all proceeds will be going to the Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance. It’s gonna be a blast. Get yer tickets now!

See you down the front!

August dates in Frome and Chard

After a couple of quiet weeks holidaying with families (and paternity leave – big shout out and Snakey-love to welcome the lovely young Master Roberts!) the Snakey train will be making a couple of late summer trips to Frome and Chard.

Earlier in the year, Frome was named the best place to live in the UK (much to the annoyance of some Bristolians). On Wednesday 22nd August, Frome will also be the best place to come and shake your eggs to the Snakey sound.

Snakes alive! Bridgwater, Pilton Party Auditions and more…

You wait all year for a chance to see The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake live, then two come along in one weekend! Both gigs will be full-strength, awesome foursome shows and we’re really excited about playing live again after our hiatus in the studio.

This Friday (13th April) we will be playing at The Fountain in Bridgwater. It’s our first time at this venue, but it looks great –  situated right on the River Parrett with regular chilli nights – so that’s two songs on the set list straight away. Should be a cracker.

Then on Saturday (14th) will be playing at round 3 of the Pilton Party auditions at Pilton Working Men’s Club. Please come along and show your support!

See you down the front!

A Message to You, Rudolph!

It’s that time of year again!
Enjoy and share the love. Merry XmasSs from The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake

PS, who likes mince pies?

Snakey Christmas is a comin’

So when does Christmas start for you?

Your 1st advent calendar chocolate? When you first hear Stop The Cavalry in a shop? The premiere of the John Lewis Xmas TV ad? Town centre Christmas lights switch on? When Lidl start stocking mince pies (August)? When they show Ghostbusters on TV?

Well, we can tell you that this year it officially begins THIS Saturday November 26th at Glastonbury Frost Fayre where The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake will be premiering their festive set on the Glastonbury Fringe stage (outside Hawthorns) alongside many other musical treats.

This’ll be the first in a series of special Christmas shows (we’re not sure if it’s quite enough to call a ‘tour’) where we’ll be playing some special festive material we’ve been working on as well as the usual snakey party favourites to get you in the mood.

We’ll be returning to some of our favourite venues as well as making a debut at The Green dragon in Wellington. Here are the dates:

Saturday 26th November: Fringe Stage, Frost Fayre, Glastonbury

Saturday 3rd December: Private Party, South Petherton

Wednesday 7th December: The Green Dragon, Wellington

Friday 9th December: The Crown Inn, Pilton

Friday 16th December: Hawthorns, Glastonbury

Saturday 14h January: Wassail! The Lamb & Lion, Hambridge.

We look forward to seeing you for a mulled cider/eggnog/punch and mince pie – filled sing and dance.

See you down the front.

(PS. The correct answer is Ghostbusters.)
