A Message to You, Rudolph!

It’s that time of year again!
Enjoy and share the love. Merry XmasSs from The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake

PS, who likes mince pies?

Snakey Christmas is a comin’

So when does Christmas start for you?

Your 1st advent calendar chocolate? When you first hear Stop The Cavalry in a shop? The premiere of the John Lewis Xmas TV ad? Town centre Christmas lights switch on? When Lidl start stocking mince pies (August)? When they show Ghostbusters on TV?

Well, we can tell you that this year it officially begins THIS Saturday November 26th at Glastonbury Frost Fayre where The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake will be premiering their festive set on the Glastonbury Fringe stage (outside Hawthorns) alongside many other musical treats.

This’ll be the first in a series of special Christmas shows (we’re not sure if it’s quite enough to call a ‘tour’) where we’ll be playing some special festive material we’ve been working on as well as the usual snakey party favourites to get you in the mood.

We’ll be returning to some of our favourite venues as well as making a debut at The Green dragon in Wellington. Here are the dates:

Saturday 26th November: Fringe Stage, Frost Fayre, Glastonbury

Saturday 3rd December: Private Party, South Petherton

Wednesday 7th December: The Green Dragon, Wellington

Friday 9th December: The Crown Inn, Pilton

Friday 16th December: Hawthorns, Glastonbury

Saturday 14h January: Wassail! The Lamb & Lion, Hambridge.

We look forward to seeing you for a mulled cider/eggnog/punch and mince pie – filled sing and dance.

See you down the front.

(PS. The correct answer is Ghostbusters.)

Snakey Christmas Message!

Snake Advent Day 21: Th’ Legendary Shack Shakers’ – God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

As we established in December the 8th’s entry, it is an empirical fact that bands with ‘legendary’ in their name are brilliant. Here’s another example of why this is true: Th’ Legendary Shack Shakers’ God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

The party season is getting in full swing now and to help you practice your dancefloor moves here’s a brilliantly bouncy bit of festive ska from Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra – Christmaska (Joy to the world). Enjoy! sSsx

The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake Alternative musical advent calendar – December 4th: Ren & Stimpy!

So today’s a Thursday and you might be on your way out late night shopping this evening. As you make your way through the disorientating lights and frantic crowds, what you really need is a catchy song sung by a cartoon cat and dog stuck in your brain to help you get through it. Well, here you go. Glad to be of help. sSsx

The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake’s alternative music advent calendar: December 3rd – Holly Golightly has a lesson in H&S for you

So it’s the 3rd December – who’s put up their tree yet? Well, you might want to take heed of these words of warning from the lovely Holly Golightly (Thee Headcoatees). Remember kids have fun – but stay safe! sSsx

The Legendary snakeSNAKEsnake Alternative Xmas music Advent Calendar. Dec 2nd – Half Man Half Biscuit!

Here’s the second in our list of favourite alternative Christmas songs. It’s too easy to knock Christmas; the tacky decorations, hearing the same songs coming on the radio again (why are they still playing Gary Glitter?) the consumerist commodifcation of a once spiritual event, blah blah, etc, etc.

But hey! You know what? Bollocks.  It’s one time of year everyone can get a bit silly… and we’re all for it!

Half Man Half Biscuit have always had a way with words, and we’re all for them too! So let this be for the cynics and the scrooges. Enjoy sSsx

Snakey Xmas Musical Advent Calendar – December 1st! – Leadbelly – Christmas Is A-Coming

As we’ve yet to record our Christmas Number One Single we thought we’d take the opportunity to play you some of our favourite Christmas tunes throughout advent to get you on the mood. And where better to start than Mr Ledbetter. Enjoy sSsx
