Chillifest love

What a superb weekend at Upton Cheyney Chilli fest. After a year away it was great to be back.

We met so many cool people and saw so much cool stuff: Sicknote Steve and his home made double neck guitar/portable drinks cabinet, Sue Fairy’s hospitality and flaming washing machine, Zeus the Dog, Steve Wurzel‘s songs about cider and cheese (and cider), zebra and python burgers and chilli everything. And most of all the many members of the public who stopped by, watched and joined in with our musical nonsense. And thanks to Harry the Ukeleleguywemetinthepubthenightbefore who deputied for Chris on Sunday. Biggest thanks to Alex Chilli for having back again.

We’ve already had a few pix and vids posted to the facebook page, so if you were one of the many with your camera pointing at the weirdos playing music next to the pigsty, feel free to share the evidence. We think we spotted an official event photographer going round to so if those pics appear we’ll share them on here too if we can.

Thanks again all – hope to see you next year when we’ll do it all again.

Upton Cheyney Chilli Festival

We are thrilled to be returning for a THIRD time to the fantastic Upton Cheyney Chilli Festival.

Since we last went, it’s been expanded to a 2 day event and added an extra focus upon cider.

“Voted the best UK Chilli Festival of 2014 and the only chilli festival actually held on a chilli farm its easy to see why we are the UK’s favourite”

There’s a great line-up of musicians over the weekend (including some bright young wannabes called The Wurzels) as well as all manner of fun and frolics and AL things chilli including the infamous Chilli Eating Competition.

And yes, there is Chilli Cider.

Chillifest 2012!

A big thank you to Alex and the others for inviting us to play at Chillifest.  It really was a wicked little festival, lots of fun and lots of great food and drink. Sadly, Kev our banjo player was recovering  from a bug and not able to indulge fully but the rest of us did and great stuff it was. A chilli ‘cook off’. Chilli cider, chilli ale, chilli stout! Chilli burgers. Chilli chocolate. Chilli everything! Plus mud wrestling, belly dancing, face painting. and more. And then the incredible chilli eating contest which saw amazing feats of human endeavor as brave men (and a woman) took on ever increasingly hot chillies – including the Guinness records world’s hottest! TWICE! Hats off to ‘The Curry Monster’ & ‘The Chilli Warrior’ on their win. I would not be wanting to share a bathroom with you the next day though. Thank you also to our audience volunteer for playing kazoo for us in duellin’ banjos. Good show all round.

We had a fantastic day and are very pleased to have been asked to come back next year. Can’t wait. We’ll be posting some video and photos of yesterday soon so come back and have a look.

sSs at Upton Cheyney Chilli Festival Saturday September 8th

snakeSNAKEsnake have been asked to play at the Fourth Upton Cheyney Chilli Festival. We’ve not been to this before but it looks AMAZING fun.

“The compulsory Chilli Eating Contest is a must-see, as well as chilli tasting and a chilli BBQ. The festival organisers have now also adding a bar, live local bands and a Camp-Over, which will be in the fields above the farm where the most amazing views of Bristol, Bath and the Welsh Mountains can be enjoyed.

With live music, Kangaroo Boxing, Bouncy Castles, Bouncy Slides, traditional English farmyard games, farm tours and pony and trap rides, the event has something for everyone.”

We’ve also heard rumour that there’s going to be some sort of secret special “scotch bonnet cider”…

Come along and bring your asbestos mouthwash!
