Well last night’s gig at CICCIC in Taunton was an intimate and beautiful thing. We had the slightly embarrassing task of trying to follow the amazing talents of two superb singer songwriters Lee Rahn and Sophie Hosken-Taylor. We’re sure that these guys are destined for big things so if you get a chance see them while you can.
We were concerned how our brand of ramshackle hill-billy would folow such delicate craftmanship. But fortunately, enough people in Taunton decided that Strictly X Factor and/or the Rugby wasn’t enough to stay at home and came out to join in on rhythm section. (What Jeremy Corbyn would probably call ‘The People’s Percussion’) and it turned into a lovely evening.
All in all, a good time was had, met some great people and I’m sure we’ll be back.
(And we now know that CICCIC is Kick Kick. Not sick sick.).
PS: We’ll be back again in Taunton soon for OxJam at The White Hart on October 30. And I think there are already plans afoot to come back to the CIC again soon
